Keeping it organized

As I mentioned in my last post we have two different rotations.  Some grades have six teachers and some have five.  I make this binder to help keep myself organized and hopefully will help when I need a sub.

I used a bright colored cardstock to make the dividers (mainly because I hate the dividers from the store).  The divders are 9.5 inches by 11 inches.  I did not laminate them because our machine was down (eek). There are 11 sections.  The first part of the binder goes from Monday to Friday.  I have a class roster, printed seating chart, the roster from the first part of the year and the penciled in seating chart I made.  I also keep some notebook paper after the printed seating chart so that I can record what we did that day.  My memory is bad and some classes are on a different week's lesson.

The six day rotation comes after that and it is set up the exact same way.  The dividers have a printed label with a mustache sticker.  It is heavy and can be cumbersome but it is a tremendous help.

On the other side of the table of contents (which is now in a page protector) I have the the main schedule.

I cannot lie, it took me two weeks to get this to rights because of one holiday and the six day rotation.  I am so glad I didn't give up (I like small projects).

A few more things...

Here are a few more things I made for my computer lab this year.

Our theme this year is "Teach Like A Champion" so I decided to incorporate that with my theme. The mustache was almost too large for the laminating machine.  Ooops

We have two grades on five day rotation and three on six day rotations.  It gets very confusing so I put this outside my door to help a bit.  Love the chevron!

I also love the whole "Keep Calm" movement.  Of course I had to put a keyboard on it!

I Mustache You ....

I decided to go with the mustache theme for my lab this year.  The kids really loved getting the mustaches on sticks last year as a reward so I wanted to bring it in the room full force.  Here are a few of the things I have finished.

This is the welcome graphic that was displayed on my Promethean Board.  It had several laughs.

This is how I introduced myself.

Short list of rules.

I used Oh My Geekness by Colie's Corner (digital scrapbook files) to make these cute graphics.
You can find the kit at Gingerscraps.net.  GingerScraps - Oh My Geekness kit
Each of these graphics were made using the free program GIMP (Gnu Image Manipulation Program).
You can find this program at www.cnet.com or www.gimp.org

I will post more later. I made a new master binder (the dreaded binder, I know!), dividers
Hope you all are having a great school year so far!
